Stréimännchen / Stréifrächen

End of Carnival on Ash Wednesday. Young folk parade a large straw "guy" ("Stréimännchen") through the streets of the town. On the Moselle bridge they set it alight and throw it into the river. It signifies the end of the merry Moselle Carnival.
