On October 11 and 18, young people (from age 12; children must be accompanied by an adult and able to work independently) and adults alike are warmly invited to take part in an intergenerational workshop combining sharing, discovery, and creativity.
.
Over two afternoons (from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.), we will take the time to learn together how to sew a « Halette » — a traditional head covering once used to protect against the sun.
Light and practical, the « Halette » covered the head and shoulders, offering effective protection during outdoor work while reflecting the textile know-how of our ancestors. This headpiece is characteristic of the customs and traditions of the Moselle region and is part of the traditional women’s attire.
This friendly gathering is an opportunity to build bonds between generations while reviving a craft from the past. Whether you're a beginner or a more experienced sewer, this unique workshop is for you. Our cultural guide will be there to support you every step of the way. Everyone will go home with their own handmade creation. History is alive — and during this workshop, you’ll be a part of it!
A small snack will round off these warm and welcoming afternoons.
