Welcome to Betzdorf, Luxembourg—a commune where the Advent market, dairy cows, satellite dishes, and hiking boots all somehow end up in the same weekend plan. Kick things off at the Betzder Chrëschtmaart. on the first weekend of Advent at the school campus in Roodt-sur-Syre: wooden chalets, local crafts, regional and organic food, warm drinks, brass bands, a children’s carousel, and a visit from the Kleeschen with Fairtrade treats. It’s a certified Green Event, so you can sip mulled wine while feeling smugly sustainable. Then remember that Betzdorf is still proper farm country—expect Holstein dairy cows in the rolling Syre valley meadows, with local farms running modern barns and even automatic milking robots, because the cows here are not stuck in the past.
