Kulturhuef Museum

Where? 54, Route de Trèves, L-6793 Grevenmacher

This Luxembourg Printing and Playing Card Museum exhibits the history of printing and displays numerous printing presses, tools and documents.

Do you enjoy quirky museums that take you back in time by combining a fun visit with learning about long-forgotten skills? Then the "Luxembourg museum of the printing press and playing cards" is the place for you.

The museum’s permanent exhibition about playing cards will take you through the history of the old playing card manufacturing company founded by the Dieudonné family, who lived in Grevenmacher for five generations. This exhibition retraces this family’s adventures from 1754 to 1880, through various interactive activities for the young and the young and heart.

The second exhibition, “Gutenberg Revisited”, offers a detailed history of printing, from the third millennium BC all the way to the 21st century. You can also discover an impressive collection of historic printing presses. After your tour, you can even try your hand at printing and take home a memento.

Free guided tours are available in several languages, and a wide range of workshops complete the programme.
